At Peek A Baby, we aim to give all expectant mothers and families early pregnancy reassurance from as early in the pregnancy journey as possible. We understand that it can be a challenging time, and emotions can run high until you are sure the pregnancy is confirmed and successful.
Our early pregnancy scans are available from 6 weeks to 15 weeks, confirming the pregnancy and your baby's heartbeat. You can book your early pregnancy reassurance with your local Peek A Baby for just £49!
This is a 5-minute, 2D ultrasound scan that confirms your results from as early as 6 weeks. The primary purpose of this scan is to:
- Confirm a heartbeat
- Gestational age of your baby
- An estimated due date of the baby
- Ascertain the viability of an early pregnancy
At the end of the reassurance scan, you will receive three 2D black and white thermal images as a keepsake and a written report of the scan.
It is key to note that during this scan, we are not able to determine the gender of your baby; we can only confirm a successful pregnancy. At this scan, we are also not able to provide a 4D sneak peek. For our beautiful 4D scan packages, you must be at least 20 weeks pregnant.
Important Notes
Once you have been able to seek your early pregnancy reassurance, we recommend that you see your GP or healthcare professional with the confirmation of the pregnancy. All our ultrasound scans are performed by fully qualified sonographers or radiologists who are registered with the Society of Radiographers and the HCPC.
Please note that we will not be deliberately looking for any anomalies or checking for Down Syndrome or other abnormalities. However, if any unusual signs are spotted, you will be given a written report and instructed to see your GP or other healthcare specialist immediately.

Early Pregnancy Reassurance & Gender Reveal
Although our early pregnancy scan does not determine the gender of your baby for 6 weeks, Peek A Baby is pleased to offer expectant parents an opportunity to do this!
Our early gender blood tests are available at all clinics, providing parents the perfect opportunity to confirm their pregnancy and seek early pregnancy reassurance, as well as determine the gender of their baby from 6 weeks!
For these blood tests, a sample of the other's DNA is required. From this, our lab is able to separate fetal DNA. This will then be analysed, providing results for chromosome presence. If Y chromosomes are detected, your baby is a boy; if no Y chromosome is detected, your baby is a girl!
This early gender blood test is part of our non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), providing parents more insight into their baby's genetics pre-birth.

Why Should I Get Early Pregnancy Reassurance?

- Detecting Any Anomalies Early: Although we are not specifically looking for abnormalities in our early reassurance scans, they may be detected at this point. If this is the case, we recommend that you discuss this further with your GP and provide them with our report. At Peek A Baby, we do provide an Anomaly Scan from 18 weeks for additional information.
